Myroslava Stadnyk, MACP
Practice Owner and Registered Psychotherapist

I’m Myroslava Stadnyk (she/her/hers)—a Registered Psychotherapist in good standing with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) and an active member of the Ontario Society of Registered Psychotherapists (OSRP).

I am passionate about offering therapy that empowers individuals and helps them develop a more authentic sense of self. My experience includes over a decade of providing counselling to youth and adults with diverse needs in the social services sector (including emergency shelters and court-mandated programming) and as a private practice owner and therapist.

My Values and Approach

I'm a queer Ukrainian-Canadian woman who immigrated to Canada as a teenager. I know firsthand what it's like to navigate identity during a time when you're already figuring out who you are—and what it means when multiple parts of yourself intersect in complex ways. Being queer, being an immigrant, bridging Ukrainian and Canadian cultures—these experiences don't exist separately, and I understand the unique challenges that come when they overlap. My own journey of self-discovery through these transitions taught me that figuring out who you are isn't a straight line. My lived experience shapes how I work with clients. I don't just understand these journeys theoretically—I've walked similar paths myself, and I bring that deep personal understanding into our work together.

My practice is rooted in intersectional feminist and anti-oppressive values.

This means my approach is:

  • Non-pathologizing

  • Trauma-informed

  • Focused on understanding that every person’s story is shaped by unique challenges, relationships, and cultural contexts

  • A balance of collaboration, support, and challenging clients at their own pace.

How We Work Together

I offer sessions in both English and Ukrainian. As an integrative therapist, I don’t follow a one-size-fits-all model. I work creatively and tailor my approach to your specific needs, primarily drawing from:

Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) (a humanistic and experiential approach, rooted in adult attachment theory)

and

Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) (a skills-driven approach, focused on helping people regulate their emotions more effectively).

Additional Modalities
I also incorporate elements of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), parts work informed by Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Dr. Janina Fisher’s Trauma-Informed Stabilization Treatment (TIST) model, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), mindfulness, and sensorimotor/body-based interventions.

My Training and Commitment to Growth

I hold a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University, a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice and a post-graduate certificate in Public Relations—both from Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU) (formerly Ryerson University).

As someone committed to self-growth, I engage in ongoing professional development, clinical supervision, and personal therapy.
